Amongst many other concerns, I specialise in:
Anxiety & Depression
Do you feel sad, tired, frustrated and unhappy? Have you lost interest in things you used to enjoy? Are you isolating yourself? Counselling can help you to work on bringing joy back into your life, help you to find a way to move forward and help you to learn to cope.
Addiction
Are you struggling with drugs, alcohol, love, gambling or gaming addiction? Working with a therapist each week can help to deal with some of the issues that may underpin some of the addictive behaviours. I can help you work to overcome this, and am familiar with the 12 step programme, if this is something that you would like to try. I have worked within an addiction agency, counselling those who are suffering from addiction, as well as those whose loved ones are suffering.
Fertility Issues
Male and female fertility issues can be incredibly frustrating and painful. Talking about your feelings in a safe space to a counsellor who has experience in this can be very supportive during this difficult time. I am experienced at working within this field and the process of IVF. I am also able to support those who have experienced loss and miscarriage, and women with gynaecological issues.
Couples
If you are a couple and you feel you are at breaking point, I can help identify barriers to communication and begin to implement strategies for change in your relationship. Together we can work towards creating a happier and healthier relationship, or to help you decide to end the relationship in as amicable way as possible.
Relationship & Family Issues
Are you thinking about, or going through a divorce or separation? Are you worried about how this will work with children involved? Are you or your partner having an affair? Are you struggling in a relationship that you desperately want to make work? Relationship problems can be all consuming; counselling support can help you to find the right options for you.
Or do you find that you have problems with other relationships in your life, whether that is parents, children, siblings, friends or co-workers? Talking about this with a therapist can help you to look at patterns of behaviour and work out how you would like to move forward within these relationships.
Bereavement
Losing a loved one, whether its expected, or a complete shock is arguably one of the most difficult things for anyone to go through. We all grieve differently and everyone’s experience of loss is different. Grief is a tough process to go through. Having support during this difficult time can be invaluable as you navigate through your complex emotions and feelings.
Work Stress
You may want to work on strategies to help you cope with work issues, or to look at other issues in your life that may be affecting your performance at work. Is there someone in your workplace that is causing you distress? Work place bullying can really affect our mental well being; talking with a therapist can help you deal with how you want to move forward.
